Madden NFL 08 Features

Passing Icoins

New to passing this year are Passing icons which will help you identify which players are covered and which players are wide open for the pass. This is shown to you in two ways:

What's new?

First the icons over the player's heads on the field will change colors depending on the coverage.

Second after the snap of the ball the Radar will display the passing icons while using the same color scheme. Use these to help make the right reads and move the ball up and down the field on the defense!

Green = Open
Yellow = Some Coverage
Red = Lots of Coverage

Touch Passing

When using the touch passing controls, you can throw to any spot on the field while using the Touch Screen. Simply touch the Touch Screen to activate the passing target and slide the stylus to move it to any location on the field, once you release the stylus the ball will be thrown.

You will also notice passing icons located at the bottom of the Touch Screen which when touched will throw the pass to the corresponding target.

Read and React Icons

New player skill icons identify on-field strengths and weaknesses, providing an immediate read on what your opponent is giving you. Quickly react, create mismatches, and exploit opponent weaknesses before every play.

Kicking

Use the +Control Pad to move the target arrow. After you get your desired starting point, press A button (or touch the kick meter) to start the meter.

Press A button (or touch the kick meter) again when the bar reaches your desired power.

Press A button (or touch the kick meter) the final time to stop the meter in the accuracy area to ensure the kick goes where you want it to. If you miss the accuracy area the kick can go anywhere, so be careful.

Defensive player select:

Any point before or during a play you can touch on a player to select him. As always, you can still press the L button (touch controls) or B button (classic controls) to change players.

Paper Football

What's new?

Experience the classic table top game of paper football in this year;s version of Madden NFL 08. You are given the option of playing a classic version of the game or the ultimate mode where you must maneuver your paper football around obstacles placed by your opponent. Check it out in the Mini-Games menu.

Wireless

Play head-to-head against a friend wirelessly. Play up to 7 other players! Head over to the Multiplayer Menu and check out the models... tell your friends!

Single-Card play

Transfer a copy of Madden or Paper Football to your friend's Nintendo DS and play wirelessly. No need for two copies of the game.

Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection

Take on Madden DS players around the world over the internet. Use automatic match-making or build up a list of regular players with the Friends roster.
